These clinical university hospitals are the main treatment and medical science institutions in Latvia.

In addition to coordinating student teaching in medical and clinical disciplines, these departments also cooperate with science institutes and universities in other countries. This means that the departments have become scientific schools and research centres, ensuring the professional quality of teaching staff at Riga Stradiņš University.
