Medicine: The medical degree at the University of Kaunas follows the “Problem Based Learning” approach, which focuses on practical and realistic situations – not just on theoretical concepts. Subjects are taught in intensive blocks. The duration of the degree is 6 years and it starts in September.

The city of Kaunas is the second largest and most important city in Lithuania, with a population of 400,000. It has its own international airport with direct flights to a number of Spanish cities. You can also travel to Kaunas via Vilnius, which is approximately an hour and a half away. The high-way known as the “Via Baltica” (E-68), which connects Warsaw – Riga – Helsinki, also runs through the city. Kaunas is a major centre for trade, industry and services.
In order to be admitted into the Faculty of Medicine, all candidates have so sit a simple written entrance examination. The exam consists of a multiple choice test, with 30 Biology questions and 30 Chemistry questions (60 questions in total). Those students who do not hold a TOEFL or IELTS certificate will also need to sit an English exam which will test the knowledge acquired at the High School, so it will be quite simple.
