The Dentistry Degree is also a long-term program of the Medical University of Szczecin, structured in 5 academic years (10 semesters). After its finalization and approval of the studies, the student will be awarded an official diploma in medicine,  as a Dentist or “DMD”. The first two years will serve the student as an introduction, where content about essential medicine and preclinical studies are taught. From the third year on, the content immerses in dental and clinical disciplines. Each academic year covers 60 ECTS credits, which the student will have to pass. The set of academic hours, seminars and practical hours amounts to 5000 hours.

 

Out of this tree central factors, seven medical areas of study arise, which will accompany the students for four years:

  • Morphological sciences
  • Scientific basis of medicine
  • Preclinical sciences
  • Behavioral sciences with elements of professionalism
  • Clinical sciences in general medicine
  • Clinical sciences in dentistry
  • Legal and organizational basis of medicine

During the fifth academic year, (ninth and tenth semester) 30 weeks of practice units are to be performed in the following dentistry disciplines:

  • Conservative dentistry
  • Prosthetics
  • Dental surgery
  • Paedodontics
  • Periodontal and mucous membrane diseases
  • Maxillo-facial surgery
  • Orthodontics
  • Gerodentistry
  • Integrated paedodontics
  • Integrated conservative dentistry
